Bluffside Apothecary may have officially taken root in June 2024, but the seed was planted years ago—quietly, lovingly, in the comfort of my own kitchen. Back then, I wasn’t thinking about skincare. I was thinking about nourishment.

It all started with a glowing woman—a client in my senior move management business—whose radiant skin stopped me in my tracks. “Bone broth,” she said with a smile, when I asked her secret. Nothing more. Nothing less. She showed me how to make it, and that pot of slow-simmered bones became my first act of devotion to natural wellness.

Years passed, and one day, while straining another golden batch of broth, I paused over the shimmering layer of fat I had always thrown away. What if it could serve a greater purpose? My research led me to the world of tallow—rich, restorative, and cherished by generations past. I rendered it, blended it with olive oil and a few drops of lemon and lavender, and created my first humble balm. It was imperfect, but it opened the door.

That door led to years of study, testing, and alchemy—exploring carrier oils, essential oils, textures, scents, and the science of skin itself. With a background in Senior Living, I knew how delicate and precious aging skin becomes. I asked myself the questions no label could answer:
